At blistertoe, my mission is to empower individuals to take control of their health and well-being through personalized coaching and guidance.
Hello! My name is Justin Stoeckel. That's my lovely family in the photo.
My running journey began through sickness. I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in 2001. As a means to control my symptoms, I began running. There wasn't a specific goal other than to feel better. My symptoms began to decrease as my endurance increased. I began to grow more curious about my running. How far could I go? What if I ran home instead of driving? What if I ran my home state of Delaware? In the last twenty years, I have accomplished many goals through running. I ran thirty miles on my thirtieth birthday. I did run Delaware from top to bottom. I've completed 5Ks, 50Ks, and 50 milers. More than anything else, I feel better!
What has brought me the most joy is sharing what I have learned along all those runs with others. I have coached youth runners to find joy in running, developed running as a way of life in first time runners, and I even helped a close friend towards completing his first 100 miler in just six months!
I have successfully coached cross-country at both the collegiate and high school levels.
I've been an educator for the last 15 years. I taught elementary school for 12 years. I am now an 8th grade history teacher for a local middle school where I also coach wrestling and track. Teaching is about building relationships with students. It is about discovering the unique way each student can learn. I bring these same educational goals to my personalized style of coaching.
